Carrefour – a compact hypermarket equipped with the MAGO CX25 Monofond system
A complete project for the new Hypermarket 2.0 format in Bydgoszcz: design, production, delivery and installation of sales floor fixtures – from grocery and bakery shelving, through mobile fresh zone modules, to checkout counters.
Carrefour Bydgoszcz, Comfy Park
See how the Carrefour project in Bydgoszcz came together. Tomasz Ławiak, MAGO Product Manager, takes you around the store and shows the display solutions used in this project – from the CX25 Monofond shelving configuration, through mobile fruit and vegetable modules, to the illuminated bakery zone.
The challenges set by the client
Carrefour was looking for a partner who would:
Fit a full hypermarket offer into a compact space – proposing fixtures that maximise display capacity without narrowing the aisles.
Design a coherent layout of themed zones – from fresh and local products, through the bakery, to non-food categories – so that customers move intuitively around the store
Provide day-to-day flexibility – enabling quick changes to displays and planograms without store downtime
Deliver everything according to the opening schedule – meeting the deadline without compromising on quality or safety
Scope of work
MAGO was responsible for the entire project – from selecting solutions and the functional concept of the sales floor, through design and production, to delivery and installation of the equipment: the MAGO CX25 Monofond shelving system, fruit and vegetable modules, bakery shelving and MAGO B5 checkout counters.
Consultation and advice
We started the project by analysing the assumptions of the new format and the specifics of the building. A compact hypermarket requires a different approach from a classic large-format store – every metre of display has to work for sales while keeping the store comfortable to move around. On this basis, we developed the equipment concept and selected systems for each product category.
Design
We prepared a sales floor design that takes into account the shopping path, the division into themed zones and seasonal changes in fresh category displays. We configured the MAGO CX25 Monofond system so that store staff can quickly move shelves and change planograms themselves – without special tools and without taking the shelving out of use.
Production and logistics
Once the design was approved, we manufactured the complete set of fixtures at MAGO plants and coordinated deliveries in line with the investment schedule. We planned every stage so that installation could start on time
Installation and preparing the store for opening
Experienced installation teams installed the shelving systems, fresh zone modules and checkout counters, and then prepared the space for stocking. The final stage was handing over the finished store before it opened to the residents of Bydgoszcz.
Project results
A full offer in a compact space Fixtures for a sales floor of approx. 3,100 m² holding a range of over 25,000 products.
Flexible displays without downtime The CX25 Monofond system allows the shelf layout and planograms to be changed quickly during normal store operation.
A fresh zone that follows the seasons Mobile fruit and vegetable modules allow the zone layout to change with the seasons and product rotation.
Better presentation of bakery products Illuminated bakery shelving displays bread and pastries in a way that supports impulse sales.
More efficient service in the payment zone MAGO B5 checkout counters ensure cashier ergonomics and a smooth flow of customers at peak times.
